Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint an Electronics Engineer to join a small multi-disciplined team of engineers. This role involves a mix of electronics, PCB and mechanical design. Knowledge of acoustics would be a great asset but is not essential.

This is an ideal role to work within a small dynamic design team to help develop the next generation of embedded noise monitoring systems to protect hearing and enable management of environmental noise.

  Salary:                  £40-50k + BenefitsLocation:             Hunmanby, Yorkshire- this is an office-based role.Duration:             perm/ full-time  Key Responsibilities:
  • Electronic hardware design of embedded microcontroller circuits with typical peripherals including USB, IRDA, RAM, FLASH, ADC’s, I/O, SERIAL, COMPACT FLASH, BLUETOOTH, NFC, OLED, TFT DISPLAY’s, RTOS, Ethernet etc.
  • Analogue design of audio circuits.
  • Design for EMC and CE compliance.
  • Collaborate with embedded software engineers to create a working product.
  • Printed Circuit Design using OrCAD/Allegro.
  • Mechanical design using SolidWorks and Draftsight (AutoCAD).
  • Generate product drawings, schematics, BOM’s, assembly drawings.
  • Maintain drawings.
  • Investigate new emerging technologies and how they can be used in the latest Sound Level Meters.
Essential Skills:
  • A degree in Engineering, with a focus on Electronics.
  • At least two years of relevant electronic design experience, including designing a circuit utilising an embedded processor.
  • Experience of Printed Circuit Board design.
  • Experience of designing enclosures and mechanical design using CAD.
  • Proven experience of designing and delivering a product through a complete lifecycle.
  • Generate project documentation, requirement specification, test reports.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to create innovative solutions.
Desired skills:
  • Experience of CAD design using Solidworks.
  • Design for hazardous environments (ATEX/Intrinsic Safety).
  • Schematic capture and PCB design using OrCAD/Allegro.
  • Acoustic knowledge.
