Salary circa £45-60k dependent on skills and experience

Our client manufacturer and supplier of high-quality acoustic measurement instrumentation. They are dedicated to the prevention and eradication of noise-induced hearing loss and environmental noise pollution.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Financial Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. You will manage a team of three within the accounts function and actively participate in a number of key projects within the business, as well as contributing to the development and execution of the finance strategy.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Managing the accounts function for 6 companies (including European & overseas entities) and holding company.
  • Preparing financial reports and financial statements.
  • Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations to directors for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget, forecast, and KPIs.
  • Look to optimise cash management strategies and maximise investment returns.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with the directors to develop accurate forecasts and budgets.
  • Track budget performance throughout the year, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
  • Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Develop financial models and scenarios to support strategic decision-making and investment analysis.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements or upgrades to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Qualified with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Part Qualified or Qualified by experience.
  • Experience of using Sage 50 or similar accounting software
  • Intermediate Excel skills as a minimum
  • Someone who is driven, passionate about accounts and looking to eventually be the number one in the finance function.
  • Solutions focused with a commercial background
