A Civil Engineering Consultancy based in Hampshire have an opportunity for a Principal Highways Design Engineer to join their growing team. The role benefits from a competitive starting salary of up to £65k, plus bonus and many other benefits.
As Principal Highways Design Engineer, you will manage the design process for a variety of projects within the transport planning sector. Responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that designs are delivered within programme and budget.
- Management of resource allocations.
- Preparation and management of project budgets.
- Being the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Ensuring that designs adhere to relevant guidance and authorities.
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
The key skills required for the Principal Highways Design Engineer will be:
- Proactive management skills with the ability to inspire others.
- Excellent resource management skills.
- Experience of a variety of highway design environments.
- Proven project management of highway projects.
- Previous experience of mentoring and developing others.
- Experienced in managing the development of contract documents related to relevant highway contracts.
- The ability to work with and advise key clients on technical issues in the highway structure sector.
- Knowledge of Civils 3D CAD package.
- Experience in highway drainage design and use of MicroDrainage software.
