Senior / Principal Transport Planner - Fleet


Our client, a leading transportation and highways engineering consultancy, is seeking an ambitious and collaborative Principal / Senior Transport Planner to join their dynamic team in Fleet. Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
  • Preparation of Travel Plans and Travel Plan Coordination
  • Preparation and presentation of technical data and drawings
  • Undertaking junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
  • Liaison with clients, contractors, and local/national authorities as required
  • Ensuring all assigned tasks are delivered on-time and to budget
  • Checking the quality and accuracy of work produced by junior team members
  • Working collaboratively with the team and proactively supporting junior staff
  • Supporting Team Leaders in delivering comprehensive advice on Highways & Transport matters
  • Undertaking site appraisals/visits and designing surveys
  • Maintaining up-to-date electronic and paper project files
  • Assisting with other related tasks as required by Team Leaders


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Transport Planning, Geography, or Civil Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of UK Transport Planning standards and processes
  • Membership of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (MCIHT) is essential
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office software packages
  • Understanding of ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex data findings
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Good commercial understanding and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal skills and self-motivation
  • Ability to manage own workload and maintain a professional manner when dealing with colleagues and clients
  • Experience with AutoCAD is desirable
