Our client is a one and a half form entry primary school in the heart of Fleetwood Town, FY7. They pride themselves on being a community school and their pupils reflect the diverse community they serve. Currently this school requires a qualified TA to support a EYFS class, providing general whole class support and small group assistance.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is driven, engaging and also able to gel with students emotionally and intellectually. Ideally, you will have EYFS experience and an understanding of the EYFS framework. Due to the diverse populace of pupils that attend, some students may require SEN support so although it is not essential to have this experience you may be required to help on a 1:1 capacity and also work with small groups of children, if lesson plans require it. A committed, and professional individual is a must have as there will be times you may have to help plan activities and work with the teachers and staff to help with certain individuals' learning needs and plans.

The Role starts from 28th October until 20th December with a potential extension into the spring term. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30-3:30.

Pay for the position is between £11.68 - £12.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of resources and activities for 1:1 and small group support.
• Support the class teacher with activities, upholding the class behaviour and reward scheme.
• Have a flexible approach and ability to adapt resources on the spot.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to organise appropriate activities and provide feedback on pupil progress.
• Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher's, TA, specialist support staff.
• Review and support the child's EHCP or care plan.
• Work closely with other LSAs and support staff.
• Work with classes, small groups and with children on a one to one basis.
• Monitor and track the development of pupils, supporting their personal development and confidence.

Essential requirements

• Experience of working with young people.
• Experience within a reception setting.
• Good class management skills.
• Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
• Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
• Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
• Have experience with SEN or knowledge learning difficulties.
• TA qualified.
