The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Engineer to work for an established, growing business in the Fleetwood area.

Multi Skilled Engineer salary: 40K

Multi Skilled Engineer hours:
Monday - Friday 40 Hours Per week
Candidate will be on the duty call out system every other week in addition to usual basic hours.
On call Rate:
Attendance Fee: Monday - Friday 50 Per week
Saturday - Sunday 40 Per week.
Call Out Fee: Monday - Saturday Paid at 1.5 times your normal hourly rate.
Sunday - Paid at 2 times your normal hourly rate.

Multi Skilled Engineer Role and responsibilities:

Actively Learn all aspect of maintenance department:

  • Participate in, on the job training
  • Attend all H&S and business-related course & briefings


Preventative Maintenance System:

  • Update and maintain the schedule
  • Conduct walk rounds and visual inspection
  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance of all equipment

Breakdown and Repairs:

  • Mechanical
  • Electrical where permitted (legally)
  • Plumbing
  • To be part of the 'call out' team


New systems installation:

  • Electrical installations, cable routing etc - none electrician work
  • Mechanical installations
  • Pipe work around factory
  • Paperwork checks
  • Logistics


Control of cost centre and ordering:

  • Raising and checking purchase orders - to be handed to Maintenance Manager
  • Obtaining quotes for work required
  • Time sheets work and liaising with 3 rd party contractors
  • Purchasing consumables


Administration:

  • Help in the preparation and implementing/ training out of, Risk Assessments (RA),


Standard Operating Procedures (SOP):

  • Preparing Method Statements for tasks and jobs to be done
  • Training of other Maintenance team members & operational staff
  • Control of contractors and their paper work


Utility Supervision:

  • Participate in the energy management system
  • Check sampling equipment
  • Cold rooms running to correct temperatures & settings
  • Actively monitor and challenge water usage & wastage

Required Skills / Qualifications Required:

  • Existing mechanical engineering qualification, or currently working towards same
  • Effective Communication Skills between all levels within the business
  • Time Management - ability to work to set deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also confident / competent to work on own
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Excel & Word proficient), Outlook Express (Task and Diary management)
  • Working knowledge electrics
  • Understanding of the 'Permit to work' system
  • Driving Licence (clean/current)

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

  • Working towards or has 18 th edition electrical qualification
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Carpentry & Plumbing
  • Refrigeration knowledge
  • Knowledge of PLC units
  • Previously worked in a Food manufacturing environment or an understanding of working with live products.
  • Knowledge of food safety (Basic Hygiene)
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements and implementation in the workplace.
  • Training towards or achieved CIEH Level 3 Awards in Food Safety
  • Ability to issue permits under the permit to work system
  • Ideally worked within the food industry as an engineer within the last 2 years.
