Nicholson Hird Ltd is working in partnership with a long established FMCG manufacturer in the recruitment of an accomplishedEngineering Maintenance Managerto lead, develop and motivate a team of plant and facilities maintenance specialists to create a strong culture of preventative maintenance resulting in optimum availability and yield.

The Engineering Managerwill support all Engineering activity on a flagship manufacturing site, involved in short and long term technical development plans in line with significant and ongoing investment into plant and facilities.

Responsible for the leadership and development of a loyal and committed maintenance and facilities engineering team. With this team the Engineering Manager will ultimately ensure all plant/equipment and facilities/infrastructure maintenance is completed to a high standard, through the rigorous application of best practice engineering principles, driving optimum machine availability and yield whilst ensuring standards and safety compliance. Aside from the day to day, the team will also support on capital projects as required.

Key skills

  • Qualified Engineer- mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Previous experience in a senior Engineering Maintenance leadership role, either as a Head of Engineering of Engineering Manager or Maintenance Manager ina food, FMCG or pharmaceutical, medical device setting
  • Experienced in bothplant and facilities maintenancemanagement
  • PM, TPM, predictive maintenance, condition based monitoring
  • Strong,root causeproblem solving skills using methodologies such as A3, 8D, 5Y etc.
  • Experience leading and developing an Engineering team
  • A passionate leader of people, who shows genuine interest and ability in developing, coaching and mentoring a team of engineers, encouraging them to meet their own potential
