Quality Control Manager (Laboratory based)

To £60,000 plus bens - pension, healthcare, bonus

Nicholson Hird Ltd is working in partnership with a long established FMCG manufacturer in the recruitment of an accomplishedQuality Control Managerto lead, develop and motivate a team of QC specialists in a dedicated on site laboratory, ensuring that products meet industry standard, customer requirement and legal compliance with all applicable standards, regulations, guidelines and GLP.

The QC Manager will hold responsibility for all matters relating to incoming inspection and testing, and subsequent release of product whilst providing support on NPD and assisting with supplier management. Theyll work closely with peers in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to provide excellence in the Quality department.

Key skills

  • Previous experience as a Quality Control (QC) Manager or Laboratory Manager - or an experienced supervisor looking to take a step up
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in chemistry, or another related technical field (food science, microbiology, quality management)
  • Detailed knowledge of a range of food safety and quality standards ideally at global regulation level such ascGMP, MHRA, FDA, ISO9001: 2015, FSSC22000, BRC, HACCP.
  • Experience in apharmaceutical and/or food manufacturing,or other highly regulated sector
  • Desirable additions would include Lead Auditor qualification, external auditing in Quality or Food Safety, and validation protocols
  • Apassionate leader of people, who shows genuine interest and ability in developing, coaching and mentoring a team, encouraging them to meet their own potential
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis tools
  • Able to write and present departmental reports with relevant supporting data
