Job Opportunity: Dedicated Teaching Assistant - Supporting Special Educational Needs (Term Time, Temporary)

A Fleetwood Primary are seeking SSA's in preparation for September. This Primary school is an inclusive academy that welcomes children of all abilities and backgrounds to access education. They offer a fantastic faculty environment, access to staff training such as Phonics, INSET days and first aid. We are seeking a special support assistant to work between 3-5 days term time, between Monday - Friday 8:30-3:30. Pay is £13.84-£15 per hour based on experience and role requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students with mild special educational needs, helping them to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and well-being of pupils with a range of mild needs, including:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Global Learning Delay (GLD)
- Cognitive Support needs
- Dyspraxia
- Dyslexia
- ADHD/ Autism
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised support plans.
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
- Supporting students with their social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and self-regulation.
- Assisting with personal care where necessary (with appropriate training and sensitivity).
- Contributing to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Observing and reporting on student progress and any emerging concerns.
- Building positive and supportive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
About You:

- A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to learn.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to the role.
- Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or have equivalent experience.
- Have a good understanding of child development and learning.
- Experience working with children with SEND is desirable but not essential.
