Job Title: Machine Operator

Department: Manufacturing

Location: Flint

Pay: £12.50 per hour, increasing to £13.03 per hour after full training

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts on a rota basis

Job Summary

As a machine Operator you will play a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing team by operating and monitoring machinery across various production lines. This role requires versatility and the ability to work efficiently under the guidance of the Shift Operational Lead to meet production goals. Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

  • Operate and monitor machinery as assigned to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Participate in all production line activities, including machine operation, packing, palletising, and replenishing materials.
  • Ensure all required materials are available and ordered in alignment with production schedules.
  • Conduct quality and safety checks in accordance with company standards.
  • Adjust machinery during changeovers and ensure the correct setup for production runs.
  • Maintain production line records, ensuring accurate tracking of material use, yield, and traceability.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and report any unsafe practices or incidents immediately.
  • Perform routine safety checks on machinery and report any issues to the relevant supervisor.
  • Adhere to all PPE requirements and ensure the work area is kept clean and safe.

Quality Control

  • Verify raw materials against specifications before use to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the production area and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product integrity.
  • Report any quality concerns or deviations from standards to supervisors.

Cost Management

  • Actively work to reduce waste and identify areas for improvement in production efficiency.
  • Report any inefficiencies or areas for cost savings to the Shift Operational Lead.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure a smooth production process.
  • Escalate any issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure production targets are met.

Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement (CI) Team to support initiatives that enhance production efficiency and overall operational performance.
