Reed Education North Wales is working with a secondary school in Flint to recruit a full-time Science Technician for a supply/temporary role. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and organized individual who is passionate about supporting Science education and ensuring the smooth operation of the school’s Science department.

Location: Flint, North Wales

Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Supply Role)

Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical Science lessons, ensuring everything is ready for experiments and demonstrations.
  • Maintain and organize laboratory equipment, ensuring all materials are safe, clean, and stored properly.
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering Science lessons by providing technical support during practicals.
  • Ensure the safe disposal of chemical and biological waste according to health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels of Science equipment and materials, ordering supplies when needed.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures to create a safe environment for staff and students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a laboratory or as a Science Technician is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a laboratory environment.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS (can be processed through Reed).
  • Right to work in the UK.
