Grafton Banks Finance are currently working with a growing commercial business in Folkestone to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a full time basis. Reporting into the Group Finance Director and working within a busy growing company, you will be responsible for supporting in the smooth running and operations of the companies accounting and finances.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Daily/ Weekly reconciliation of Bank transactions for each site within the group
  • Scanning, coding and input of supplier invoices
  • Monthly supplier statement reconciliations
  • Producing “suggested” supplier payments for approval on a weekly/ monthly basis
  • Reconciling “cash-ups” to bank and credit card providers daily/ weekly and reporting variances
  • Posting of weekly sales Journal
  • Checking employee expense claims and payments
  • Assisting with the Payroll for all sites within the group and subsequent liaison with payroll bureau
  • Weekly flash reporting for all sites within the group
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with the group cashflows, budgets and forecasting
  • Assisting with Statutory requirements, liaising with external accounting company
  • Support all teams and providing transparent information for commentary

The successful candidate will have experience of working in finance specifically around Purchase Ledger and reconciling large volumes of financial data. You will need to have excellent IT skills, including Microsoft packages and Excel. A solid communicator both verbal and written to work closely with the Finance Director and non-finance professional. Enthusiastic and confident on your approach, being able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
