Nursery Practitioner

Dovetail and Slate are currently hiring for a passionate Nursery Practitioner to join a vibrant nursery team in the Folkestone area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact in early years education, with an initial 6-week contract and the potential for a permanent role afterward.

The nursery offers a warm and welcoming environment, dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of children. The role primarily involves working with children aged 0-2 years (babies) and 18 months-2.5 years (toddlers), but flexibility is required to work with children across all age groups within the 0-4 years bracket.

Duration- 6 weeks (opportunity to move permanently afterwards)

Hourly Rate: £14ph

Weekly hours: 37

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality care and supervision to children, primarily in the baby (0-2 years) and toddler (18 months-2.5 years) rooms.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment for children to learn and grow.
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that support children's development and learning.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and other team members.
• Observe and assess children's progress, keeping accurate records of their development.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
• Adapt to different age groups as required, ensuring each child's individual needs are met.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
• Good understanding of child development principles.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• A positive, proactive approach to challenges and problem-solving.
• Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent
