SEN Teaching Assistant - Severe Needs - Primary and Secondary Pupils (Folkestone)

Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

£83.33 per day

Are you an organised, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant seeking your next opportunity? Tradewind Recruitment is on the lookout for an experienced and committed Severe Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Folkestone!

This is a full-time role, available immediately. Initially offered as a long-term temporary position, this role holds potential for a permanent contract for the ideal candidate.

Tradewind partners with a variety of SEN schools in Folkestone and surrounding areas, so whether you're based locally or willing to commute within an hour, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting primary and secondary pupils with complex Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and challenging behaviours
  • Delivering personalised one-on-one and small group support to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons and engaging activities
  • Creating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment and assisting with classroom resources and routines
  • Supervising students on school outings, during outdoor learning, and in enrichment activities
  • Providing clear guidance, repetition, and rephrasing to support student engagement in learning
