Housekeeper for a 12 month contract,

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract available, 40 hours per week, year round

Hourly rate: £12.37 - £12.59 per hour

Annual Salary: £25,729.60 - £26,187.20 (depending on experience)

This college is part of a group that looks after 2,100 children and employs over 4,000 people across a portfolio of 224 residential facilities, and specialist schools.

The main purpose of the role:

The College is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Housekeeper to join the friendly and hardworking team. The successful candidates will work as part of the Housekeeping Team and duties will include vacuum cleaning, wiping furniture, mopping hard surfaces and other general cleaning duties.

Key duties:

  • Vacuum cleaning floors
  • Spot cleaning of spillages
  • Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass
  • Emptying and cleaning bins (daily)
  • Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds
  • Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces
  • Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing banister rails spindles and wood surrounds.
  • Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily)
  • Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit
  • Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time
  • All defects/hazards must be immediately reported

Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.

Your Skills & Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience of using equipment and materials in situations where care is needed to prevent harm to others
  • Key aspects of Health and Safety legislation for cleaning
  • Experience of cleaning a variety of surfaces.
  • The role will require some lone working; travel; physical work and the ability to drive
