Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with complex needs? We have an exciting opportunity for Specialist Speech and Language Therapists to join our client’s team, working with individuals who have complex speech, language, communication, and dysphagia needs.
As a valued member of the team, you’ll play a vital role in empowering service users through tailored interventions such as AAC, Intensive Interaction, and Sensory Programs. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated group of professionals committed to delivering best practices and shaping services to meet evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical
- Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions in collaboration with service users, families, carers, and external agencies.
- Conduct autonomous assessments of speech, language, and communication needs to inform placement decisions.
- Manage all aspects of a caseload following comprehensive assessments.
- Produce detailed reports outlining service users' needs, progress, and future management plans.
- Maintain a working knowledge of legislation related to autistic adults, adults with learning disabilities, and those with cerebral palsy.
- Communicate complex information effectively to service users, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
Organisational
- Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines for reports and administrative tasks.
- Prioritise workload and caseload to ensure effective service delivery.
- Provide tailored training and guidance for carers, staff, and relevant stakeholders to enhance their knowledge and maintain high care standards.
- Supervise and review therapy interventions implemented by carers, assistants, or staff.
- Maintain a comprehensive CPD portfolio in line with RCSLT and HCPC requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist (Bands 5 and 6).
- Experience: Proven experience working with individuals with complex needs and their families.
- Desirable Expertise: Specialisation in dysphagia is highly advantageous.
