About the Role:
Vision for Education is excited to partner with a primary school in Ashford to recruit a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). This part-time role, working four days a week, offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the education and wellbeing of students with special educational needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing SEN provision across the school, ensuring that students with diverse needs receive the support and resources they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the provision for children with special educational needs across the school.
  • Work closely with staff to identify and support students who require additional help.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure they are tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Collaborate with parents and external agencies to support students effectively.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices for SEN.
  • Ensure compliance with SEN legislation and school policies.
  • Track and report on the progress of students with SEN and provide strategies for improvement.

About You:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and experience working in a primary school setting.
  • A current SENCO qualification
  • Strong understanding of SEN codes of practice and relevant legislation.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for children with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
