As a Trainee Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to provide tailored support to students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity for those considering a career in education, psychology, social work, or youth work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with behavioural challenges in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
- Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to help students develop positive coping mechanisms.
- Promote a safe and positive school environment for all pupils.
Requirements:
- A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to different school settings.
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
- A willingness to undertake training and professional development.
