Our client, a well-regarded secondary school in Leytonstone, East London, with a "Good" rating from Ofsted, is seeking a talented Design Technology teacher with flexibility on specialism to join their dynamic team. The school is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring every student achieves their full potential.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate Design Technology teacher with expertise in at least one area of DT (e.g., Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, Textiles) to teach KS3 and KS4 students. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons that foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical abilities. Flexibility to teach across multiple specialisms within Design Technology is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective Design Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore and innovate.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Design Technology curriculum.
  • Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Design Technology or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Design Technology at the KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Specialism in one or more areas of Design Technology (e.g., Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, Textiles).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for teaching.
