Financial Analyst

2020 Recruitment are working with one of our engineering clients who are looking to add a Financial Analyst to their team in the Angus area.

This will initially be a 12 month contract but there may be an opportunity of permanent work at the end of this period.

Location: Forfar, but 1 day in Montrose (Tuesdays) and 1 WFH

37.5 hours per week. 8.00am 4.30pm Mon - Thu, 8.00am - 3.15pm Fri.

The Role

This Financial Analyst will have responsibility for the small ledgers month end financial processes and day to day bank / projects accounting. There will also be some project based accounting work (AP tidy up, chart of accounts analysis and clean up and process review and documentation) as required. This role will also assist the local management team with reporting, analysis and presentation, as required, on actual, forecast and plan numbers across our operational sites.

Duties & Responsibilities

As the Financial Analyst your duties will include the following:

• Responsibility for a small ledgers accounting processes bank transactions, month end close and day to day processing of project accounting (Oracle ERP)
• To assist with clean-up projects on AP in suspense, Unvouchered receipts and intercompany reconciliations
• To assist with month end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations as required across the 3 business streams feeding into the finance team
• To assist the local management team with reporting, analysis and presentation, as required, on actual, forecast and plan numbers
• To review aged WIP and provide commentary to the business to ensure Work orders are being completed on a timely basis and to feed this into the accounting team for SOX purposes.
• Proactively analyse cost trends within the P&Ls
• To provide UK Financial Controller with financial information as required
• To constantly review for continual improvement, systemsand procedures in relation to financial reporting

Requirements

To be considered for the Financial Analyst position you must have the following skills and experience:

Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)

Knowledge of Financial Analysis and Financial reporting

Knowledge of SOX reporting

Knowledge of basis accounting entries and how AP / AR / Intercompany feed into the financial statements

As the Financial Analyst you will be offered the following package:

Hourly rate of £19.13 - £26.92
