Job Purpose

Shift based mechanical and electrical role, supporting process operations and maintenance activities across the site.

Reporting to the Engineering Shift Lead and working as part of a multi-skilled team on shift, this role will carry out planned and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance as required.

Core Accountabilities
  • Work as part of the engineering team to carry out maintenance work on machinery and equipmentThis includes maintenance of packaging, milling, and product handling equipment as well as site infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting and practical fault finding on plant, mechanical and electrical systems
  • Installation and commissioning of new plant or modifications as appropriate
  • Carry out planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenance
  • Reporting of all engineering activities in the appropriate format into a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
  • A proven track record of effective technical problem solving, fault diagnosis, maintenance and continuous improvement
  • Experience of working in a lean operating environment, preferably FMCG
  • Experience of working in a operational team of varying disciplines and skill levels
  • ONC / HNC in Engineering supported by a recognised apprenticeship
  • Understanding of hazards and controls associated with a complex industrial environment and producing food and feed
  • Ability to work as an individual and with groups
  • Ability to effectively balance urgent and important tasks
