We’re looking for a Lead Electronic Design Engineer who wants to work with the latest technology, to grow and develop an innovative, sustainable, next generation product range. What skills and experience will the Lead Electronic Design Engineer need?

  • Significant knowledge (degree or other appropriate qualification essential) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Considerable demonstrable experience of leading design work in a similar manufacturing business
  • Commercial experience e.g. negotiation techniques, supply chain management, volume manufacturing, customer relationship development, etc.
  • Conceptual, analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to take technical lead and mentor engineers, relevant to area of expertise.
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge in the following subjects areas:
    • Embedded & power electronic design, schematic capture, PCB layout & simulation, using Altium Designer
    • Microprocessor, Analogue & digital design
    • Ability to diagnose and mitigate EMC/EMI problems
    • DFM, DFT, Power supply design, PWM experience, High voltage design
    • Analyse and solve complex scenarios in mechatronics; interactions of mechanics, electrical and computer related problems
    • Experienced in consumer products, power electronics, portable devices, power tools etc.
    • Best practice design guides, rules, manufacturing & assembly techniques
    • Hands on testing & evaluation using a range of test equipment
