Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a Frodsham-based single-form entry primary school as they are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable higher level teaching assistant to support the reception class on a temporary full-time basis. This is an ongoing contract that will last until the end of the academic year as long as funding continues.Your new roleAs a HLTA within this school, you will be based in the reception/EYFS class, supporting the class teacher to offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all pupils. You will effectively utilise an array of learning equipment and implement an array of positive behaviour strategies to promote learning and engagement. You will offer 1:1 and group support to your new pupils with a focus on phonics sessions/assessments and learn through play to further develop and encourage your pupils' social and emotional development. As well as offering general classroom support, in the absence of the class teacher and PPA, you will deliver pre-planned lessons to pupils.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting EYFS/reception aged student within the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Expert knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
  • Have a Level 6 or equivalent teaching assistant qualification
  • Have experience covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher
