Job Title: Head of Sales

Position: Full-time, Based in offices in St Albans 

Reports to: Sales Director

Salary range: Up to £60K

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales to lead their sales and customer service team and drive the growth of their business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, an understanding of the hospitality industry, and the ability to collaborate on and execute strategic sales plans. As the Head of Sales, you will oversee all sales operations, develop relationships with customers, and achieve revenue targets.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategy:

Develop, collaborate on, and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company revenue goals.

Analyse data and trends to drive sales opportunities.

Set targets and monitor performance to ensure goals are achieved. Provide feedback to the team and make necessary plan adjustments.

Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and customer service team to achieve individual and team targets.

Identify new market opportunities and lead the expansion into new sectors.

Collaborate with the senior management team to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.

2. Sales Operations:

Oversee day-to-day sales operations and ensure the efficiency of sales processes.

Monitor sales performance metrics and provide regular reporting to the Sales Director.

Create and implement sales action plans that incorporate key actions that work to set KPIs for the business.

Identify areas of improvement in sales strategies with a view to establishing actionable insights for the improvement of sales and business profits.

Conduct research for data-driven insights that will help form a better understanding of market opportunities, limitations, and competitor activity.

Implement best practices in sales techniques, CRM management, and customer service.

Ensure the sales team adheres to company policies and standards.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to sales and company strategies.

3. Team Development:

Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales and customer service team.

Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, with an ability to inspire a large group in a unified direction and vision.

Be an approachable and likeable individual who can form long-lasting relationships internally and externally on behalf of the business.

Establish and oversee the adoption of company vision and values, which form part of the work culture. Provide a mentorship role to key positions within the sales department.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.

Foster a collaborative and positive team environment that encourages professional growth.

4. Customer Relationships:

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Address customer concerns and ensure their satisfaction with the products and services.

Represent the company at industry events and trade shows.

Skills:

Minimum of 8-10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Strength in problem-solving, issue resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

Strong leadership and team-building skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Must work well as part of a team and be able to collaborate with both internal and external customers.

Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be self-motivated, adaptable to business growth fluctuations, work comfortably and effortlessly in group settings, and work well under pressure.

Be able to demonstrate calmness under stressful situations and inspire their team to do the same.

Job Specifics & Benefits:

Monday to Friday 09:00am to 17:00pm (No weekends or Bank Holidays)

Office based in Frogmore, St Albans
