AR666 - Project Design EngineerLocation: Frome (Hybrid working available)Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Car AllowanceOverview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Project Design Engineer on behalf of one our clients.This is a dual-role position involves overseeing projects from conception to completion while producing accurate technical drawings to support project execution. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management skills with technical drafting expertise to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel but all applications will be considered. Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD or other relevant drafting software.
  • Create 2D and 3D models for ductwork, ventilation systems, and associated components.
  • Interpret technical specifications and ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Update and revise drawings based on feedback and project changes.
  • Maintain a library of project documentation and drawings for future reference.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, reports, and documentation.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in project management and drafting, preferably within the HVAC or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of ductwork, ventilation, and air filtration systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt to evolving project demands.
  • Team player with the ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and capable of working under minimal supervision.
