Head of PE & Outdoor Education
Salary: MPS/UPS+TRR2b (a recruitment & retention incentive is available for the right candidate)
Start date: September 2025 or earlier if available
Full time & permanent
We are looking to appoint a talented, ambitious and innovative leader to take on the role of Head of PE & Outdoor Education at a wonderful secondary school based in Bournemouth.
The PE department has received national recognition from the YST for its dedication to getting girls active in sport. The PE department has also successfully launched an initiative in getting more boys active in sport too.
The school has outstanding sports facilities along with an outdoor education site where students are taught bush craft and survival skills as part of the PE curriculum. This post will also involve DofE activities as well as teaching within the sixth form.
To be successful, you will need to :
- Have the highest expectations of students
- A high level of emotional literacy
- Be innovative and creative with excellent interpersonal skills
- Be passionate about Teaching PE and Outdoor Education
- Have an abundance of experience within PE (this can be a second subject)
- To provide a CV with full employment/education history with any employment breaks explained
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
You must hold QTS and be able to attend for interview in person. Please note we do not provide sponsorship for overseas candidates.
