Context:

Designing, manufacture and installing of systems at our clients factories in the United Kingdom, U.S.A. and the Netherlands.
Job Purpose:
Providing overall support to a team of staff from production to financeTo help to ensure that the site is maintained to the standard required and the correct policies and procedures of the Company are followed and maintainedTo work in conjunction with other members of the production and finance team, organising and prioritising workloads of a routine nature on a daily/weekly basis
Key Responsibilities:
As a Welding Team Leader your duties will include:
• People management, development, and mentoring• Planning and leading small component metal product and process delivery• Ensuring operations are consistently delivered within target times and costs.• Ensuring capacity and coverage meet demand volatility within standard hours.• Driving and supporting continuous improvement activities• Providing hands-on operational process coverage where required• Participating in quality and process internal and external audits where required
Health & Safety:• Follow Group and company policies and procedures, at all times.• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment.• Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.• Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.• Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.
Environmental
Ensure all sites are compliant with the latest legislationPromote the environmental committee and all internal communications
Environmental Policy. Shall participate in prescribed training programmes in order to familiarise themselves with the requirements of the Company Environmental Policy. Should make suggestions to improve and protect the environment within the site to the appropriate Manager or Supervisor concerned, or to the Environmental Co-Ordinator. Shall co-operate with the Company’s recycling programmes. Shall co-operate with the Company’s energy programme. Shall where, possible, reduce waste within their area of work
Training
Maintain Training matrix and assist with organising of training for required personnel as requested/required by HR Manager
Personnel and Training
To attend a PDR with your Line Manager and to agree and take ownership of your training and development needs. Attend Company and Legislative Training Courses as requested. Ensure that all Waste Certification is current and latest training has been undertaken
General Responsibilities
To take adequate steps to ensure the security of Company and Client property and monies under your control Maintain good client and colleague relationships Ensure that all written communication represents a professional image to customers, clients and staff. Action customer complaints by escalating to your line manager where necessary. Comply with any reasonable instruction from your line manager within the agreed deadline. Comply with all Company policies/procedures and client site rules and regulations. Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
To be a successful welding Team Leader you will have the following skills and experience:• Strong experience in welding and fabrication.• Fully qualified NVQ 3 or City & Guilds.• Good knowledge of MIG and TIG welding.• Ability to read from drawings.• Able to direct the work of others and organise workloads.• A collaborative approach and be able to build and maintain effective relationships.• Strong literacy, numeracy, IT skills, documentation, and time management experience• Have worked in a fast-paced Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, or equivalent environment.• Ideally have small component metal cutting, forming, welding, rolling, and inspection experience Ideally have a management, engineering, or process improvement qualification.
