RattrayParkin is excited to be working with a global name in the sports industry, to recruit a talented Tax Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented tax professional to join a leading, innovative company in Gainsborough and be part of a dynamic finance team.

This role will focus on Tax.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile all tax and pension accounts monthly and take ownership for tax matters in the UK and Europe.
  • Assist with preparing monthly accounts, including meeting deadlines and ensuring financial practices and records comply with the applicable accounting standards.
  • Maintain and update a good working knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including new filing practices, deadlines and any company-specific information.
  • Prepare tax accruals for the Company records and accounts, whilst ensuring that the accounting system is accounting for tax correctly.
  • Complete VAT returns in the UK and coordinate the reporting and reconciling of VAT returns with our Tax Consultants in Europe.
  • Management of duty declarations, including the transfers in and out of the bonded warehouse and ensuring these are declared and reported correctly, along with maintaining our AEO status.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand business practices and new projects and communicate the tax implications of all business practices to senior company managers.
  • Working in the Finance team to support the monthly accounts preparation
  • Be the main point of contact for HMRC audits and spot visits and lead the regular internal tax audit compliance checks.
  • Prepare the Company PSA and UK Corporation tax returns.
  • Any other duties that help support the wider Finance team

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong experience in corporate tax, VAT, and other UK tax regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
