Elevation Recruitment Group are Woking exclusively with a bespoke machinery manufacturer to help them recruit a Design Manager. Our client is at the forefront of innovation, providing high-quality equipment and services to customers all over the world.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Office Manager to join our growing team in the UK. This role involves overseeing the design of bespoke mechanical packaging solutions for machinery primarily used in the FMCG industry, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a team of design engineers, draughtsmen, and technical authors.
  • Control the design program, allocating resources to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Ensure high-quality drawings and designs are produced before release for manufacturing.
  • Implement project designs in accordance with customer requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Lead design review meetings, collaborating with other departments on concept designs.
  • Provide technical support to sales and service teams as required.
  • Maintain accurate technical files and machine records.
  • Assess and improve existing design systems for greater efficiency.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • An engineering degree (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering or management role.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Experience in designing special-purpose machinery or automated production equipment is essential.
