Are you an experienced or newly qualified teacher looking for a rewarding new opportunity to support learners with SEMH obstacles?

Milk Education are in partnership with an SEMH Independent school in Gainsborough, who are seeking to employ a strong primary class teacher with experience of catering to students with SEMH & behaviour challenges for a mixed year 3 and 4 class of 4-6 children. This school is committed to motivating, supporting and inspiring pupils to re-engage with their education.

The class teacher role will be working closely with SLT to provide a broad and balanced education that goes beyond the academic, and aims to develop the whole person – responsible, reflective young people that are able to fulfil their potential.

Class Teacher Roles& Responsibilities:

  • Have a good, up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and know how to use and adapt them, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
  • Hold positive values and attitudes and adopt high standards of behaviour in their professional role.
  • To organise the classroom, its resources, pupil groupings and displays in order to provide a stimulating learning environment.
  • Manage the learning of individuals, groups and whole classes effectively, modifying their teaching appropriately to suit the stage of the lesson and the needs of the learners.

Class Teacher must haves:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Successful teaching experience across key stages 2 & 3, within a SEND/SEMH school
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies and proven experience of their success
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing when working with children, and when communicating with parents, other staff and governors where appropriate.
