Trainer / Assessor

Location: Gainsborough

Salary: Negotiable subject to experience and qualifications

The Association are seeking to recruit an experienced Trainer who is patient and flexible with the necessary qualifications to deliver training.

They provide training to the road marking industry, but all the specific knowledge will be provided through training and mentorship with the existing Trainer. The outcome will be to deliver training and assessment to a high standard as expected.

Job Role

You will deliver front-line road marking related training including:

  • Road Safety Marking Specialist Applied-skills Programme (SAP)
  • Road marking related training courses
  • Road marking NVQ’s

You will be able to work in-line with awarding body requirements, and schedules for completion, to support the organisations, including on-site training and assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and assess SAP Trainees to support a fully competent and skilled sector workforce.
  • Conduct regular training, reviews, and assessment visits with all Trainees.
  • Assess NVQ Candidates in accordance with prevailing qualification standards.
  • Ensure the required documents and tools are used to record Trainee progress and competence.
  • Ensure Trainee files and learning plans are of a high standard and updated regularly.
  • Manage Trainee portfolios, ensuring fitting and timely uploads to allow internal verification.
  • Deliver other training courses as required, at the association or clients’ site.
  • Develop own portfolio of accreditations, with the organisation’s support, to ensure quality of delivery.
  • Maintain and develop own professional capability to support organisational growth.
  • Support the overall aim of the organisation, taking on role relevant activities if or when required.
  • Work proactively with all members and association staff.

What the association are looking for:

They are looking for someone who is confident, experienced, and qualified to deliver training and who is willing to learn the specifics of the road marking industry.  

They are looking to recruit somebody looking for a new challenge, to join their small team as a Trainer, to deliver and eventually assess training such as their flagship Specialist Applied Programme (SAP), whilst helping them ensure the industry has a trained and sustainable workforce in the future.

If you have the relevant training qualifications, they can train and mentor you on the specific job knowledge.

You will be based at their Gainsborough office, but when qualified some hybrid working arrangements will be available. Part of the role will involve travelling throughout the UK at various times of the year.

Essential

  • Experienced and confident in delivering training.
  • UK driving licence category B, or greater.
  • Wiling to continuously develop as a professional working for a Trade Association.  
  • Comfortable in presenting with the ability to engage an audience.
