An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development/Sales Engineer to join our clients UK Sales team based in Gainsborough who are a World leading supplier of Filling, Sealing and Packing solutions for the food industry.

Business Development/Sales Engineer Benefits

  • Salary: Basic of 40k to 42k plus commission
  • Location: Gainsborough - office based unless out on client meetings
  • Working hours: 39 Hours a week, Monday - Friday between 08.00 - 16.30

Business Development/Sales Engineer Duties

  • You will be responsible for dealing with existing client base and developing new leads.
  • Identify and generate new accounts and potential new market areas which will result in increased sales growth.
  • Customer contact - Taking enquiries and raising of cost schedules and quotations.
  • Attending sales visits nationally and internationally.
  • Contacting and targeting new customers with a view to gaining new market areas.
  • Project manage all intercompany sales enquiries of UK manufactured products.
  • Raising of order acknowledgements and works orders.
  • Responsible for liaising with accounts department for raising of all invoices.
  • Point of contact for sister Companies / Sales offices including North America.
  • Organisation of Exhibitions and Trade Shows as required.
  • Point of contact for Agents / Distributors.
  • Assist with spare parts orders / maintenance agreements.

Business Development/Sales Engineer Criteria

  • High achiever with a track record of achieving rapid and sustainable business growth.
  • Customer focused with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver solutions.
  • The ability to quickly assimilate and retain information (especially technical and product based)
  • Proven, long term relationship building skills.
  • Ability to liaise and work with different teams within the office to progress accounts and customer requests
  • Confident and dynamic with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels.
  • Preferred industry backgrounds Industry experience in labelling and/or packaging
  • Computer literate, especially in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and experience of working with CRM systems would be a bonus
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Self-motivated and results-driven.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel overseas.
