FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - INITIAL 6 MONTH - INSIDE IR35

One of Loriens leading public sector clients is looking for a qualified Financial Accountant for an initial 6 month contract with a likely 3 month extension. This client is based in Galashiels and will look for candidates in office from time to time.

Essential Skills

CCAB or equivalent Qualified Accountant with good technical skills, experience of operating at a senior level and of systems development and implementation, preferably with experience and understanding of principles of pensions accounting under government's Financial Reporting Manual, International Financial Reporting Standards, HMRC legislation and guidance, Scottish Government's Public Finance Manual, Companies Act 2006, Public Finance and Accountability (Scotland) Act 2000, The UK Pension Regulator and other relevant rules, codes, regulations and guidance.

  • Strong financial management experience with the ability to generate, identify and interrogate financial data to support decision making and ensure appropriate accountability and use of public funds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain financial information clearly and concisely, influencing key stakeholders and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrate enhanced analytical skills using a variety of tools to develop informed options, make evidenced based recommendations and support informed decisions.
