Must have JIB gold card and DOMS Water card
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join our team at a water treatment plant in Galashiels. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vital industry, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment within the water treatment plant.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to support ongoing plant operations and improvements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial or water treatment environment.
- Electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, 17th/18th Edition, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Health and safety-conscious, with a commitment to safe working practices.
- Full UK driving license (due to the location of the plant).
Desirable:
- Experience working in water treatment or similar industries.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and SCADA would be beneficial.
