Job Title: Senior Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineer

Location: Hybrid (Home office, ideally Sunderland or Glasgow; any UK location commutable to client’s office considered)

As a Senior CS&A Engineer, you will be a vital member of a multi-disciplinary design team, supporting all stages of design and providing essential assistance during the construction phase. Your expertise will ensure the successful execution of projects within the nuclear engineering sector.

Your Missions:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the intelligent client and CS&A Technical Authority to ensure alignment and clarity.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate seamless integration across all engineering functions.
  • Create detailed designs, calculations, drawings, assessments, and verifications to meet project specifications.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant Euro Codes (including Eurocode 3) and Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Design concrete plinths for machinery and tanks, as well as pipe brackets for both new and existing concrete structures.
  • Verify existing cast-in elements for mechanical supports to ensure structural integrity.
  • Oversee civil design interfaces and loads between subcontractors to maintain project coherence.
  • Support and interpret structural surveys, providing insights for design and construction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Euro Codes and CDM Regulations.
  • Proven experience in concrete and steel design.
  • Expertise in conducting structural surveys.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience with Eurocodes 1-3.
  • Proficient in surveying methods (e.g., rebar scanning).
  • Understanding of CDM roles and responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with aging assets.
  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Experience with BIM LOD (Apply online only) deliverables.
