The Applications Engineer / Technical Support Engineer / Sales Support Engineer / Technical Engineer will ideally have a background in factory / industrial automation, hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal (Total Integrated Automation) PLCs, HMIs, VSDs (variable speed drives, and industrial networking., and the ability to build strong relationships with customers while delivering technical solutions.
Would be ideal for someone looking to come off the tools and go into a technical support role

Responsibilities:
Provide prompt, accurate support on factory automation solutions, including Siemens TIA Portal (Total Integrated Automation), PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, electrical control gear, networking, and cybersecurity.
Assist the sales team with technical expertise during customer engagements, system configurations, and solution proposals.
Help customers apply and integrate automation products into real-world scenarios, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Work closely with internal teams such as sales, engineering, and product management to meet customer needs.
Assist in preparing competitive, accurate sales quotations tailored to customer requirements.
8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Commutable to site based in Gateshead.
Requirements:
Experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Technical Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Advisor, Internal Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Advisor, Sales Executive, Technical Sales Engineer, Inside Sales Representative, Applications engineer or similar
A hands on background or sales/technical knowledge of electrical control and industrial automation products, including PLCs, Programmable Logic Controllers. Siemens TIA Portal, Variable speed drives, electrical control gear, etc is essential
Experience in a hands-on role within automation looking to get off the tools would be considered.
Commutable to Site based in Gateshead
