Our client a consultancy based in Gateshead are recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer will be working on a wide range of projects, mainly on social and private housing. The consultancy provides innovative engineering solution and have won multiple awards, the most successful candidate will get a range of benefits, Flexible working arrangements and a competitive salary up to £55,000.

The Senior Civil Engineer will get to work alongside innovative Engineers providing sustainable solutions to the market, whilst leading the technical delivery of civil engineering consultancy services from feasibility through to planning, detailed design and construction. The Senior Civil Engineer will have Experience in in drainage and highway design, SuDS, Flood Risk Assessments, and earthworks.

Senior Civil Engineer Job Overview

  • Working on a range of projects including Housing, Commercial, Residential and Extra Care developments
  • Ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget
  • Leading day to day technical delivery
  • Using design based software for innovative infrastructure solutions on public and private sector projects

Senior Civil Engineer Job Requirements

  • BEng, Meng, MSc, HND or HNC in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years post qualification experience working within an engineering consultancy
  • Be able to produce drainage and highway drawings, design calculations, technical reports and site appraisals
  • Knowledge of UK planning procedures and relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Local Authority Design Guidance and preparation of technical approvals
  • Working understanding of technical software including AutoCAD, Microdrainage/Flow, Causeway Live/PDS/Civil 3D and AutoTrack
  • Experience working with residential developers
  • Strong written and verbal skills in English
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative on technical matters and provide support or mentoring to others within the team
