Site Engineer

Our client is seeking a Site Engineer to oversee their Trainee Engineers, operatives, and subcontractors, ensuring that all works are executed accurately according to plans and specifications. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of construction and operational efficiency.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Responsible for setting out all works clearly and consistently.
- Ensure all team members carry out works as per the drawings and specifications.
- Complete Quality Procedure/Check sheets for various construction activities like concrete works, drainage, paving, and tarmac.
- Manage and agree weekly measures with labour-only subcontractors.
- Order materials ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with the Site Supervisor and Construction/Works Manager regarding labour and plant requirements to meet the master programme.
- Maintain up-to-date site drawings and manage site files and legal documentation.
- Assist in the compilation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Handle technical queries and compile progress reports for client meetings.
- Ensure the concrete testing process is managed and compile Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
- Assist in the compilation of monthly valuations and maintain relevant records.
- Update the construction phase Health and Safety plan.
- Coach team members to help them achieve their career goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Accredited degree in engineering (civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, or building services).
- Working towards a professional qualification with a relevant professional body (e.g., Institution of Civil Engineers).
- Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of project profitability.
- Excellent team working and communication skills.
- Proficient in technical, problem-solving, and management skills.
- Previous experience within the construction industry is essential.
- Safety certifications including a valid CSCS Card, SSSTS, Asbestos Awareness, CAT & Genny, Environmental Awareness, and more.
