An established Building Consultancy are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join their diverse and dynamic business in the North East.

The Company:

The company work across commercial and social housing projects across the North of England, valued between £200K-£5M.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting the expert witness surveying team in undertaking surveys to support clients position on housing disrepair claims 

  • Advise on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction.

  • Prepare plans, drawings, contracts, budgets, reports and other documentation as required.

  • Manage projects and/or multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Understand and record life cycle costs of buildings and their condition.

  • Ensure that health and safety arrangements and policy are understood and adhered to.

Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification in Building Surveying - MCIOB, MRICS would be advantageous 

  • Strong knowledge of undertaking surveys of residential housing stock

  • Undertake a variety of surveys from specific defect reports to full building surveys

  • Strong skills in building pathology and surveying for dampness in residential properties, is highly desirable.

  • IT literate 

  • Good AutoCAD skills

  • A good understanding of regulations and legislation, health & safety and codes of practices
