Do you thrive on setting up systems and implementing processes that make a real impact? If this sounds like you, we want YOU!

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established company based in Gateshead that is on an exciting growth trajectory. With a culture that promotes internal development and career growth, you'll be joining a supportive and vibrant finance team where your contributions will be highly valued, and your career will be nurtured.

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced Credit Controller who enjoys taking full ownership of their role and is passionate about improving systems and processes. In this role, you will have the autonomy to manage a complex ledger, focusing on reducing aged debt, improving cash flow, and driving long-term, sustainable improvements.

But it's not just about managing your ledger. You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the credit control function. You'll be able to design and implement strategies that make a measurable difference to the business. We need someone who goes beyond merely managing debt, someone who proactively streamlines operations and ensures the department runs smoothly and efficiently.

About You:

The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in credit control, with a proven ability to successfully reduce outstanding debt, particularly on complex accounts. You'll have the skills to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions.

As a self-starter, you'll be able to hit the ground running, take full ownership of your responsibilities, and drive results with minimal supervision. Knowledge of legal regulations related to credit and collections is a desirable asset, though not essential.

In addition, you will possess a deep understanding of credit management principles and debt collection practices. Your excellent communication and negotiation skills will be key to building strong relationships with both clients and internal teams.

You'll thrive under pressure, consistently meeting deadlines, and using a customer-centric approach to resolve issues. While prior experience with Sage 50 would be an advantage, it's not essential as full training will be provided. What's important is your drive, determination, and desire to succeed in the role.

What's in it for Me?

In return, you'll receive a competitive salary and excellent opportunities for career progression within a growing business. As part of a supportive and friendly finance team, you'll be empowered to make a real difference. You'll also enjoy 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, and have some flexibility with your working hours-whether you're an early bird or prefer to hit the gym before work, this role offers the flexibility to fit your lifestyle.
