Our client, a global marine technology company is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a in their offices in Gateshead. You will be producing designs for specialist Naval deck equipment- this is a whole-life technical involvement role. This is a predominantly on-site role and the successful applicant will need to be in commuting distance to Gateshead.

Responsibilities:
Develop Electrical Engineering solutions to fulfill client requirements.
The investigation of Safety and Technical problems
The development of circuit diagrams for motor control equipment including direct-on-line and variable speed drives.
The development of cable, and connection diagrams for motor control and control console equipment.
Carry out Arc Flash assessments and other calculations to substantiate designs
Experience:
Established as an independent Ltd company or via an Umbrella Company
BEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
5+ years of relevant experience
Experience of working in a highly regulated industry
Design and prepare detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules
Production of technical specifications, test procedures, and technical manuals for marine application electrical systems and components.
Create technical equipment specifications, design reports, test procedures test reports and service/ instruction manuals in accordance with industry standards.
CAD competent (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, MATHCAD) and BS EN 8888 for the production of drawings.
