We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee our finance function, ensuring all financial records are accurate and management accounts are produced timely. This role is integral to our management team, supporting decision-making processes and managing the on-site accounts team.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Act as a key member of the management team, supporting the Managing Director and participating in high-level decision-making.
  • Manage the on-site accounts team and attend monthly management meetings with other management members.
  • Produce monthly management accounts promptly, including flash figures within 3 working days of month-end and final figures within 8 days.
  • Liaise with the Finance function at our Shrewsbury site regarding inter-company balances and other financial matters.
  • Handle all interactions with HMRC, including submissions for PAYE, VAT, Corporation Tax, and other statutory requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the General Ledger and the Trial Balance, and manage the production of Year End accounts with specific adjustments.
  • Collaborate with financial auditors to ensure a satisfactory audit completion.
  • Develop annual budgets and in-year forecasts in conjunction with the Managing Director.
  • Oversee capital project spending and provide cash forecasts.
  • Manage the Sales Ledger, Credit Insurance limits, and Purchase Ledger, ensuring all balances are correct and payments are authorised.
  • Oversee bank transactions and payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage the company’s Auto-enrolment pension scheme and Life Assurance cover.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and HR policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in financial management and accounting within a similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a finance team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.
  • Knowledge of statutory financial obligations and regulations.
  • Ability to produce accurate financial reports and forecasts.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
