Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEND Schools in Gateshead on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.
About the Role:
- The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEND and allows all pupils to make progress.
- Working with Primary School aged pupils with a wide range of SEND and challenging behaviour
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
- Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
- Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
- Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
- Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience
About the School:
- The role is based in an inspirational SEND School in Gateshead.
- There is an opportunity for the role to be based across any age group from EYFS to Sixth Form depending on the experience, specialism and preference of the successful Candidate.
- The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
- Pay - Between £130-220 per day
- Hours - 08.30-16.00
- Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.
- Start Date - After Easter
- Location - Gateshead
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not esSENDtial as we can process a new one for you)
- QTS and Teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
- Experience of short, medium and long-term planning
- Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
- A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
- Experience of Teaching within the UK
- A genuine passion for Teaching
- Strong organisation and communication skills
