Are you an experienced and compassionate care professional seeking a leadership role? We are looking for a dedicated Night Senior Care Assistant to join our exceptional team in Gateshead. Our home specializes in providing outstanding care for elderly residents and those living with dementia.
About the Role:As a Night Senior Care Assistant, you will be a vital member of our team, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are delivered throughout the night. You will lead by example, supervising and mentoring a team of carers, while offering hands-on support to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable, and valued.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervising and leading the night care team, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Providing person-centered care to residents, including personal care, mobility support, and emotional reassurance.
- Monitoring residents' health and well-being, responding to concerns, and reporting any significant changes.
- Ensuring all care plans and documentation are accurately updated during the night shift.
- Conducting routine checks on residents and maintaining a calm, safe, and secure environment.
- Supporting residents with dementia, fostering a sense of dignity and respect at all times.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or similar role in a residential or dementia care setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and support the care team.
- A compassionate, proactive, and professional approach to resident care.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) preferred but not essential if you have significant experience.
