GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a focus on English as an Additional Language (EAL) for a full-time position at a primary school in Gateshead, NE10. This role is perfect for someone experienced in supporting EAL students in their language and academic development.

Job Summary:

• Support primary students with EAL in their academic and language development.
• Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons and classroom management.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to EAL students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of EAL students.
• Use a range of strategies to engage students and encourage language acquisition.
• Monitor and record student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of student support plans.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Hold a relevant qualification or have experience working with EAL students.
• Have experience or a strong interest in working with primary school students.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be proactive, patient, and adaptable.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
