IT Support Engineer
Location: Gateshead
Are you an experienced IT Support Engineer with a passion for hardware? We are seeking a talented individual to provide exceptional technical support to our expanding customer base as part of an exciting new business venture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and resolve hardware-related issues up to a second line level.
- Deliver onsite technical support, effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with hardware-focused project work, including server and network installation and configuration.
- Maintain high standards of documentation and create training materials for first line support.
- Document escalated hardware issues to ensure they are not repeated.
- Provide regular feedback to drive technical and process improvements.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience with end user device hardware and printer support.
- Proficiency in Azure, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office 365 Administration.
- Experience with Windows Server (Apply online only) and Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
- Knowledge of SharePoint Administration, Anti-Virus management, and vulnerability resolution.
- Expertise in backup and recovery, including DRaaS, EDR, and MDR.
- Strong understanding of networking, Network Access Control, and digital telephony (VoIP, SIP trunks).
- Significant experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications 2016 and 2019.
- Remote software deployment skills.
- Understanding of firewalls and networks, with Ubiquity experience being advantageous.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced environment in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
- ITIL awareness and understanding of best practices around security.
- Microsoft certification is advantageous.
