IT Support Engineer

Location: Gateshead

Are you an experienced IT Support Engineer with a passion for hardware? We are seeking a talented individual to provide exceptional technical support to our expanding customer base as part of an exciting new business venture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and resolve hardware-related issues up to a second line level.
  • Deliver onsite technical support, effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with hardware-focused project work, including server and network installation and configuration.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and create training materials for first line support.
  • Document escalated hardware issues to ensure they are not repeated.
  • Provide regular feedback to drive technical and process improvements.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience with end user device hardware and printer support.
  • Proficiency in Azure, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office 365 Administration.
  • Experience with Windows Server (Apply online only) and Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint Administration, Anti-Virus management, and vulnerability resolution.
  • Expertise in backup and recovery, including DRaaS, EDR, and MDR.
  • Strong understanding of networking, Network Access Control, and digital telephony (VoIP, SIP trunks).
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications 2016 and 2019.
  • Remote software deployment skills.
  • Understanding of firewalls and networks, with Ubiquity experience being advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced environment in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • ITIL awareness and understanding of best practices around security.
  • Microsoft certification is advantageous.
