Job Description:

As a Shipping Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of orders, documentation, and shipments within the business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing schedules and facilitating the release of customer sales orders and associated documentation.

  • Managing commodity and tariff code administration.

  • Overseeing the shipping of customer orders both domestically and internationally.

  • Assisting with customs clearance and export licensing compliance.

  • Responding to queries from Contracts, Sales, Customer Services, Quality, Purchasing, and Accounts teams.

  • Preparing progress reports and tracking process quality issues affecting delivery.

  • Facilitating claims with couriers and freight forwarders.

  • Supporting UK government department activities, including the Export Control Unit and the Department for International Trade.

  • Supporting improvement programs for Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental management.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong administrative and IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

  • High level of numeracy and organisational skills.

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines efficiently.

  • Experience in customs processes such as import/export declarations, VAT, tariff codes, and incoterms.

  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in domestic and international shipping.

  • Experience with courier/freight forwarder customer portals (e.g., UPS, FedEx, Expeditors, CEVA).
