About Us:Randstad is excited to collaborate with the Referral and Assessment Team in Gateshead to recruit an experienced Team Manager. This vital role involves leading a dynamic team of social workers to ensure that children and families receive timely and effective support through assessments and interventions.

Job Description:As the Referral and Assessment Team Manager, you will oversee a team responsible for handling incoming referrals, conducting assessments, and ensuring appropriate safeguarding actions are taken. Your leadership will be critical in managing workflow, ensuring quality practice, and guiding your team to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of social workers, ensuring effective delivery of services and timely completion of assessments.
  • Oversee incoming referrals, assessing risks and needs, and allocating cases accordingly.
  • Ensure that all assessments and interventions are carried out in line with statutory guidelines and best practices.
  • Work closely with multi-agency teams to coordinate services and ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  • Monitor the performance of the team, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role, particularly within referral and assessment teams.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and assessment frameworks.
