THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group is delighted to bring to you a client who are looking for a Trainee to work on an ongoing basis for our client based in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.

You will be working for the largest manufacturers of product in their field for some of the biggest brand names in the world. THE ROLE

The role itself is fast paced requiring good levels of accuracy. This is a career development opportunity where you will be trained and developed in the role to become a Gluing Operative which will involve hand work and/or printer machinery work. Some of your tasks and responsibilities are as follows:

  • The role is to run a high speed gluing line in either a hot or cold glue printing system
  • You will be trained to use print machinery carrying out different gluing procedures
  • You will be trained on the different types of ink that is used for the printers
  • You will carry out quality checking and have attention to detail
  • Carrying out any other work as instructed by your lead operator when downtime
  • Highlighting any anomalies to your lead operator/supervisor.
  • You will be responsible for housekeeping as Health and Safety routines are key to ensure a safe working environment and support the daily audits enforcing these.



THE PERSON

Although no formal qualifications are required as training will be provided; a manufacturing background is preferred. Some of the personal qualities and skills for this role include:

  • You will have the willingness to learn processes and procedures which is an essential requirement for the role
  • You must have good timekeeping and housekeeping skills
  • You will have good communication skills due to working with other departments and dealing with different supervisors
  • You will show flexibility to support the business and be prepared to carry out different tasks at short notice requested by your supervisor
  • You will have proven skills demonstrating the ability to work at a fast pace and being able to multitask in order to meet customer demands
  • The business has core values which are fundamental principles and guides their decisions and conduct.
